I'm older than Tomb Raider. However, I'm too young to remember the game getting released in 1996, unless my attention was simply elsewhere at the time. My first experience with Tomb Raider must've either been in the late 1990s or early 2000s. I feel like all of the best things were created in the 1990s, but I probably feel that way because I was a 90s child. Had I been born in the 1950s then I'd probably feel that all of the best things were created in the 1950s. Nostalgia is a powerful thing; I really miss VHS Tapes, even though they are virtually obsolete due to newer, better alternatives.

My first experience of TR was about 97 or 98. I used to play Lara’s home on TR2 on my cousins PlayStation.

I had a demo disk with demos for TR1-3 on them and I used to play the TR1 demo over and over when I got my own PS. I remember thinking how much atmosphere and style it has over 2/3 even back then.

I started playing Tomb Raider in 2012 I think, in my old Nokia cellphone I don't know if anybody remembers those 2D java Tomb Raider games? Well those were my first TR games, then I also played the java version of Underworld until I finally managed to get a computer in 2014, but it was so weak I had to resort to playing the classic TR games instead of what was brand new at the time, in time I got to play LAU as well.

In a way I feel like that helped me experience TR as if it were the 90's of course none of my friends were interested in the game though

Interesting, now I'd like to hear from Harley Croft about what she/he thought of my first experience with Tomb Raider(1996).

My dad got Dennis a PS1 in 1997 for Christmas. We got a demo disk that had TR2 on it, and I was hooked.

The first TR I played was TR3 on my first PC in around 2000. (Before that year I had already had a mid-90s PC but it was so slow that it was unable to run the game.)

Between 2001 and 2005 I managed to play (in order) TR2, TR4, TR5, TR6, and lastly TR1.

Between 2006 and 2008 I also played TRL, TRA, and TRU, but the magic was already over. They were not TR for me.

These days, TR2 and TR3 are the only TR games that I think very highly of. I think that TR1 is fairly good, but not in the same league as TR2 or TR3. TR4 is a game which I did adore but I've lost a lot of fondness for it. TR5 is a game that I disliked which grew on me but I still didn't consider it to be any better than reasonable. I'm not sure if I'll ever play TR4 or TR5 again.

My current ratings would have to be:
TR2: 9.5/10
TR3: 9.5/10
TR1: 6.5/10
TR4: 4.5/10
TR5: 4.5/10

Where’s the lie?! I can’t wait for February. And I can’t wait for a certain ultimate weapon.
