Honest to god, I think I might actually introduce them to a TRLE game - Nordic Adventure by Feder. It has all the charm of the original but more polished graphics. Then if they like that, perhaps my remakes of TR1-2 (or any other upcoming ones) since they will also have better graphics.

Legend for sure. Probably the best aged game in the series. Then Anniversary if they liked it.

TR3, Anniversary

I pick TR3 and Anniversary for Croft Manor is more complete, which is good for newcomers to explore and practice skills I think. In TR3, there are gym, swimming pool, assault course, treasure room, aquarium basement and quadbike course. Anniversary Manor includes a simpler and friendlier gym, a swimming pool, and a big maze garden.

Furthermore, as far as I know, in my country most of the people in or under my age don't know any Tomb Raider games before the 2013 reboot. I personally prefer the original to the 2013 reboot series, and in my opinion they need to be introduced properly.

I would introduce outsiders to TR2013 but with a huge caveat being to ignore the garbage story and characters.

The first games of each era are the best ways to go: TR1, Legend and TR2013.

I would say TR Legend is a good starter, as its very visual and atmospheric plus the levels are short and sweet.

Then the 'outsider' can decide to go on with TR Anniversary and TR Underworld or go back and do AOD and the classics, though leaving TR4 to last, as is a very long and arduous game to play.

When should the 'outsider' do the reboot games?
