Arrow Doing The Long Swim Without Medipacks Or Glitches (RX-Tech Mines)

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JX6F7YJm0tc

Towards the end of the level is a bit where you have to go for a long swim in the icy water. I wondered if it's possible to do the swim without healthpacks and without using glitches. When you go into the icy water, the cold meter depletes very quickly, and when that runs out your health bar starts to rapidly deplete. There is a glitch where saving and reloading causes the cold meter to refill, thus making this bit a lot easier. I wanted to see if it's possible to do this bit without that glitch and without using healthpacks. It's not easy, but this video of mine proves that it can be done. You have to be very fast and precise with your swimming, but it is possible to do. I hope that you find this video useful.

Very nice
You weren't even at full health, so I guess there's a tiny bit of margin for error, even.

I've never cheated through that passage myself, but I remember having the "Small Medkit" hotkey handy during it.

I completed the level normally up until that point and the health that I lost was unavoidable. There isn't much room for error.

Good vid.

I thought it was impossible originally but that was because for years I'd completely missed the first climb out alcove prior to the diving bell. I couldn't get into the diving bell without losing significant HP and that means the swim is impossible without feeding LC at least a small medipack.

But when I belatedly discovered that alcove I found I could fairly easily get to the third climb out alcove, prior to the swim up, with considerably more than 50% HP left. That's with the previous two unavoidable health loses earlier in the level which Greenapples968 also includes.

With approximately 60% HP left it makes the swim up to the Tinnos entrance area doable without dying. But, as the YT video shows, if you're going for all secrets you will be doing that last one on the thinnest sliver of HP left.
