Thanks for the advice. Watched yesterday evening.
And yes, I agree it's a masterpiece, but OMG... so cruel.
The soundtrack is wonderful.

Neil Marshall’s claustrophobic 2005 horror film The Descent.

Joker

A lot was said about the movie before, after watching it i can only tell you to watch it yourself.
Its incredible strongly done and as much as i hate it, i have to give dirtbag phillips a lot of credit, he created a deeply layered movie that captures you.

However, it is not a DC movie...it only uses the names and nothing...nothing else.
Even as an otherworld version its too far from it because imo it needs to have at least some resemblance, this movie doesnt have that at all.
It uses just the names but is so far from a DC property that its crazy.

A word about the "controversy" of it...a lot of it is deserved imo.
The movie tackles mental health on a layered level that is not "on your nose", so those who are not willing or able to look beyond that, see a man who "frees" himself by giving into violence and madness justified.
Which is a big problem considering mentally ill people do not tend to look at things deeply.
So i can see why a person with incel or so tendencys looks at this movie and feels justified in wanting to harm others to feel alive/free or so.

Anyway, fantastic movie that needs to be seen imo.

9/10

Felidae

When I was a kid, my parents briefly mentioned that they had seen an X-rated animated film about a cat many years earlier, and that my dad sort of liked it but my mom did not. That movie was "Fritz the Cat", of course, but as I knew nothing about either Crumb or Bakshi back then, the movie I imagined in my head was like this one.
