Will Crystal make a classic TR remake?
(This has been discussed from time to time in other threads, but I think it needs its own thread)
I think they will make a remake. Reason 1: They canceled Croft Manor/8th DLC in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. -> they want to use the Manor in the remake. Reason 2: There are very talented people in this community who are working on there own remakes (TR 2, TR 3, new Level Editor which will result in even more fans making remakes and new TR games.) -> they will lose potential buyers if they don't act fast Reason 3: Remakes are In at the moment and sell well. Reason 4: The reboots are over and crystal has to come up with a new concept anyway. What do you think? Are there more arguments for it? Or also against it? |

I don't think they will, and if they do it'll possibly be even more unfaithful to the source material as TRA was and they'll just hide behind the word "reimagining."

They can't even remake the gym outfit correctly, god forbid they try remaking one of the classic games.
I'd only want it to happen if another company was in control. |

I do agree, I would rather it happen in the hands of another company. Someone who will do it right. |

Probably not. I wouldn’t want them to either. Get someone in their who knows what they’re doing and won’t let Squeenix interfere with doing a faithful remake.

I agree with this. If they want to make a faithfull remake a la Spyro, bring someone who knows the formula.

I'd be all for it, if they remake the games like they did with Anniversary, with LAUs engine, as a fun and cheap side-project while TR4 is being made.
I won't care about remasters, or remakes with the same systems and controls though |

If crystal reads all yours answers they'll probably shy away from doing a remake anyway. If the old TR fans won't buy it what's the reason to make one...
Would you all also be against them continuing the old classics with better graphics? For example an AOD 2 game? Or a new and different TR6 game? |
