Exactly! The people complaining about Melissa and claiming that she wouldn't belong in a TR game don't seem to know what kind of people worked at Core Design and/or what the other Core games looked like. While they didn't wear their taste for different types of metal, rock and punk as much on their sleeves as id Software did, it was still pretty obvious if you read between the lines. I mean, in TR I Lara has red shoe laces, which is associated with punk culture and her bio states that she loves NIN. Also the early TR I design documents and the fact that Lara was inspired by Tank Girl should be very obvious hints. If anything, Melissa looks very Tank Girl-esque (which I love) and maybe Lara would've looked like that if someone else designed her. Maybe Nathan McCree should've made the soundtracks of TR I-III metal instead of classic. AFAIK the reason that he went with the latter was that most games at the time had soundtracks that sounded more like metal and rock (even MIDI soundtracks) and they wanted to differentiate TR from other games as much as possible.

I remember seeing a post or a tweet that it was possible to run the multiplayer mode, but i can't find the post anymore ...
from what i see, it is needed to remove "-local" and "-nonetwork" from the parameters, and to extract the files to z:\artbase instead of c:\artbase, but it crash all the time , it seems when it try to bind the network socket to the UDP multiplayer port... also i wonder how to tell the ip of the other player ... anyone knows how to enable multiplayer ? thanks ! |
