This one as a teaser poster for the movie would have been really cool

Yeah that's the one (I see I even commented there xD), as far as I can tell as an illustrator myself it's not a photoshop filter it's an actual illustration of the character so I appreciate that, most of other work is cropped right out from the posters for the movie (and I believe it's against the rule of the contest). Also the separation of the characters two personas with an arrow is a nice touch, simple but effective, fits the story.

Thanks, I WAS going for a bit spookier vibe there compared to the official posters for the movie xD

Do you think its ok to use scenes from the film in a poster? Im working on one (i have no illusions I'll win but im doing it for fun) and im highlighting points weve seen in the trailers but not copying them or anything.

Rules are so vague about that. Definitely not just copying the total film posters though.

I think you can use them as reference, just not the actual still/photo on the work.

At least that's what I understood

Someone asked this in the comments section on talenthouse at the very beggining of the contest and the reply was No, basically you are only allowed to use content and info from the trailers as a reference but the idea and the design has to be entirely created by the artist.

That makes it incredibly difficult considering no one has seen the movie so if you create new scenarios they likely wont relate to the film and thus also disqualify your art lol.

Oh well with less than a week left i doubt I'll have time to change mine.

Chinese press release with video of Alicia and Wu presenting trailer together.

http://news.mtime.com/2018/02/05/1577963.html

Open it in chrome and translate the page, the comments about Wu are hilarious and his macho muscles.
