I don't have A-list status as one of my criteria. Really narrows the pool, especially since there is no current obvious choice like Angie was

An A-list actress means more confidence in the project, bigger budget, better actors, better directors, better performance... Lara Croft should be a character like Batman that any A-list actor would kill to play. It's something prestigious because there is a legacy of actors... if you allow any actress to play it... it loses interest and value. Currently, it has been played by 2 Oscar winner actresses so any prestigious actress would feel honored to be Lara Croft.

That all makes sense in theory but reality isn't that predictable. It's all secondary to Lara's performance and the actress shouldn't be chosen based on Hollywood elitism, imo.

If they wanna keep Hayley as unified Lara I would not be disappointed.

I am also in the camp that it doesn't need to be an Oscar winning actress but I respect PinkyPromises opinion because we all have different visions and versions of Lara in our heads.

Hayley looks fantastic in that picture even if it is AI.

If only she was ten years younger.. She still would make a nice Lara though.

I could see them going for her if they wanted to release a limited TV series, but if they want to go for the blockbuster route then a younger candidate would be preferred.

And no she's not old. She's only 40, but she would be in her 50's by the time they would make a trilogy for example.

tough, maybe today she'd be a tad bit old for that kind of role, who knows.

She was the perfect embodiment of classic Lara in Relic Hunter imo.
I mean that's how I would have expected TRII & TRIII Lara to look in real life.
