Hello ! When I launched Tomb1Main.exe it crashed once the Eidos logo passed and I don't know why. First I thought it was my custum level made on TombEditor that was at fault but it seems not.
Maybe it is because of the FMVs ?

Double check you have all the level and FMV files. You can also try and check the tomb1main log file to see if there’s an error message.

Oh ! I didn't realized I have to install the original game first and put Tomb1Main in the right place (Steam).
Thank you ! Works well now. I was lost because I wanted to custom TR1 with TombEditor and it seems I didn't do the right thing first.

EDIT : My issue was actually this : https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...d.php?t=227888
Somehow I didn't have the TITLE.PHD to make it work. Solved !

One thing I have noticed with TR1Main is that for whatever reason - my very high end PC seems to lag and stutter a bit while playing in even small rooms.

At first I thought this was me imagining things. I played TR3Main and that plays really smooth.

I tried using Bandicam to take screenshots and annoyingly when exiting - all my screenshots were blank - just a black screen (as if it was not capturing the game at all)
And I was using the generic screen capture setting so it should take images of whatever is on my screen? It worked for TR3Main and other games.. ?

Tr1main uses opengl where as tr3main still uses directx, that could be your problem.

As far as performance, are you on a laptop or desktop? There has been issues with laptop people playing on the integrated GPU before and having to force the game to run on the dedicated GPU. That could be the issue. What are your specs?

As far as screenshots, you can use the print screen key to take screenshots that will save into the game's screenshots folder as the level name and date. You can specify in the config what format like jpg, png, etc.

Its a gaming laptop.

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10750H CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
RAM 16.0 GB (15.8 GB usable)
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor.

I always found it strange that I can run the latest games no issue, but TR1 struggled hehe - I guess it must be the GPU.
I'm not much of a techy guy tbh

EDIT : So I just read about something, and went to my Nividia control panel - a GPU option was set to Optimal, so changed this to Max Performance. Might do the trick?
My battery life / power was already set to Max Performance.

EDIT 2 : Just tested the game and also ran Lara's Home to see if it slowed down in the main hall - not even a stutter - I can feel the controls no longer seem to 'lag' either

Nice! I think you can set your GPU to only go into performance mode for certain apps. That might make it easier instead of switching manually.

  • changed the installer to always overwrite all essential files such as the gameflow and injections

  • changed the gameflow to detect and skip over legacy sequence types, rather than preventing the game from starting
  • fixed Natla's gun moving while she is in her semi death state
  • fixed an error message from showing on exiting the game when the gym level is not present in the gameflow
  • fixed the bear pat attack so it does not miss Lara
  • fixed some incorrectly rotated pickups when using the 3D pickups option
  • fixed dead centaurs exploding again after saving and reloading
  • fixed the incorrect starting animation on centaurs that spawn from statues (regression from 2.15)
  • fixed jump-twist animations at times being interrupted (regression from 2.15.1)
  • fixed walk-run-jump at times breaking when TR2 jumping is enabled (OG bug in TR2+)
  • fixed Lara jumping late with TR2 jumping enabled, as compared to normal TR1 jumping when entering the run animation initially
  • fixed the reset and unbind progress bars in the controls menu for non-default bar scaling
  • fixed original data issues where music triggers are not set as one shot
  • fixed a missing enemy trigger in Tomb of Tihocan

  • fixed new game plus not working if enable_game_modes was set to false (regression from 2.8)
  • fixed Alt-Enter triggering game actions (regression from 2.15)
  • fixed Natla spinning in her semi-death and second phases when more than one is active in the level
  • fixed FPS counter, perspective filter and texture filter not always saved when changed from keyboard
  • moved the enable_game_modes option from the gameflow to the config tool and added a gameflow option to override
