Potential compiling of levels for TR1-3 and TR5.
Quote:
TOM files were an intermediate format used by tom2pc to compile a final TR4 file of a level. TE does not make TOM files, since the compiler is built-in into TE and the editor produces TR4 files. The name "Output WAD" in TRLE is actually quite misleading, since it is not the WAD that is being output, it's simply a "WAD file" of the level (the TOM file). WAD files are actually files consisting of objects for the level, such as Lara, enemies, doors, traps, static objects and more - a WAD consists of at least WAD, WAS, SWD, SFX & SAM files. Loading a WAD is not what you need to do when you want to build your own level, you need to either load your PRJ file made with TRLE/NGLE, which usually comes with an associated WAD, or build a new project from scratch, load a WAD for it and save it as PRJ2. You should also check paths in Tools > Level Settings to make sure they're correct, especially the path where game runtimes reside, since that is the location where your level TR4 level file will be compiled, and correct them if necessary. By default the TR4 level file will take the name of your PRJ/PRJ2 file (unlike TRLE/NGLE, where it takes the name of the WAD). Make sure you enter the correct name in the script and that you are working in the same TRLE/NGLE installation directory as the one you configured in TE. Last edited by Dustie; 11-12-17 at 02:19. |

We are working hard. Today I've added the loading of strings from TXT file, soo you can have them in combobox inside trigger window, like NGLE

In old TRLE it is even possible to copy/past rooms between to different projects (i mean it keeps the copy room into clipboard) And if you copy a little room shape, you can past it into a 18x18 size room so you get the little zone inside it where you want ^^ 2. Would it be possible to create another button to completely reset a room to its default shape ? (it would save time instead of flatten/smoothe and so on...) |
