Watched Ghost Ship last night and it was a snooze 😴

Which is too bad because I absolutely adore the director's 2001 movie Thir13en Ghosts

It recently got a bluray release and it has become a cult classic for its uniqueness and rich lore. I cannot recommend this movie enough if you like horror

What a coincidence @HarleyCroft

31 Nights of Halloween 2021:

1.Wrong Turn - The Foundation
2.Awaken The Shadowman
3.The Elf
4.Saint(Sint)
5.Killer Klowns from Outer Space
6.Sleepy Hollow
7.The Cleaning Lady
8.Charlie's Farm
9.Husk
10.Blood Creek
11.Slender Man
12.Smiley
13.Friday the 13th(2009)
14.Halloween(1978)
15.13 Ghosts
16.Ghost Ship

Was busy yesterday so i couldnt post anything.
Night 15 was 13 Ghosts...its a solid movie in my opinion, but they wasted the potential to explore the ghosts more.
You could have done more with them, some have really cool backstorys to their designs and all.
Solid movie that wastes its great idea a bit.

Night 16 was Ghost Ship
Also a Solid movie, fantastic Opening scene still and overall a good movie you can watch on a lazy saturday.
But it also didnt fully use its potential imo.

@Mani_Man
Have you ever seen the special feature that gives the ghosts backstories?

Warning: kinda disturbing

Yup, thats why i said they wasted potential.
You could have done whole movies about some of the ghosts.
They have such disturbing and cool backstories.

I know why i tend to ignore Animal horror movies...they can easily be boring.
So is this, the most interesting thing is the cover.
Really really boring movie.

I might have watched the movie during my last years Marathon, but i cant be sure nor is it a big deal if i did.
I have to go back to the original because i thought i liked it way more than i do this.
It tries way too hard doing the 3d gimmick instead of focusing on delivering a fantastic movie.
Not the worst movie but it lets a lot of potential on the road.

What was the big deal back then about this? That it was a stephen king netflix exclusive or so?
I remember that it was rather big when it was announced.
I dont know the book so i cant say how faithful to it the movie is, but i like the movie.
Nothing too spectacular or so, but i enjoy it.

How they convinced to have Amazon put this into their library, is beyond me.
Dont get me wrong, they really tried their best and the most of it...but while the Horseman looks neat, the most budget seemed to have gone into that.
Because the effects and Actors are horrible.
I mean they really try to make the most of that, try to do the best movie they could possibly do with what they had...but this is never reaching even B-Movie levels.

Boy, i notice that im getting exhausted on Horror a bit.
Started 5 movies before turning them off and going onto youtube to watch Nosferatu in the end.
I need to take a break from Horror movies before my marathon because otherwise im getting tired of Horror.
Need to tone down my horror movie consume when October comes around. XD

Anyway, crazy how effective the movie still is, almost 100 years after its release.
The visuals, playing with shadows and all...max schreck who owns the screen whenever he appears.
Since its public domain, its easy to give it a shot...its one of the classics i think everyone should see at least once.

Australian slasher that has a cool idea and Killer design, but fails to keep the momentum.
It has a cool concept, Girls are abducted and put into the Outback to be hunted by a few Masked killers for the amusement of the internet.

But the movie does too little with any of that.
It becomes a very boring movie that also tends to use the "coincidence" trope during several situations very bad.

Without the part where they are pretty much hunted for the internet and with a darker setting...like in some shady woods...this could have been super neat.
Its not a bad movie at all, it shows the potential Australia has in the genre...but it loses its pacing and momentum early on.

Doesnt help that here in Germany the Netflix version is censored.
The very good kills are mostly cut, despite being Mature rated.

I tried to get my BF to watch A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 with me but he doesn't watch movies from the '80s
Freddy vs. Jason it is then

I really like Nosferatu! Seen it twice so far.. both with different musical scores I think there are dozens of versions out there

Loving the reviews, Mani Keep em coming
