Default The Angel of Darkness HD Graphics Patch

[CENTER]

Introduction:

The Angel of Darkness HD Graphics Patch aims to replace all the textures in
the game that really stick out in their bad quality with HD textures that look
as similar to the original textures as possible. Sometimes I do change
textures entirely, but this is only when I think it makes the game better
looking, if it makes the graphics more consistent, the immersion better or if
it makes a level look more accurate to the actual real-life environment it’s based on.

I divided the game in 8 chapters, each containing a number of levels.
Each new release will contain a new chapter. Chapter 0A & 0B
(‘Interface & Items’ and ‘Characters’) will be updated along with each new chapter.

Remaking textures is an insanely time-consuming process. I’ve been working
on the graphics patch for 4 years now. It’s something I work on now and
then, and then leave for a couple of months or even years. For me it’s the
only way to persevere making this patch. I aim to eventually finish the patch.
But I’m not sure when that will be.

Installation instructions are provided in each download.

Awesome work! I would love to get my hands on this when it's done.

Nice textures, especially that city texture on horizon.
Edit: I just saw now that you write about the horizon too. It was really a good idea.

Very nice!

Some areas (especially cutscene close ups) need a face left.

Very nice textures , are you going to work on the cut-scene textures?

I'm now working on the LOD (distant buildings and such) seen in Parisian Back Streets and Industrial rooftops. It's shocking how many inconsistencies there are. It's very clear that the LOD was made early in the process and that later on some textures were changed, but the LOD never was. (for example you can see the large chimneys from both the parisian backstreets level (on the rooftop) and from the actual industrial rooftops level. The texture differs very much and is alot darker when industrial rooftops is loaded. Of course the main goal is to replace these extremely blurry LOD textures with the original resolution textures, to make it look much better!

That is actually very impressive!

Did you have to recreate the textures yourself?

Since 2013, AOD had more modding done than all other TR games altogether

It's good, it's good. I like those, because you make them sharper, but still keep the style.

Amazing, thank you so much for your hard work!
Can't wait to see some of the other areas too.
