I am thoroughly enjoying the game with the keyboard and mouse, it's very true to the original and much better than my pessimistic self ever thought they could do. They would not let me map the roll button to the number '5' key though, no idea why that is.

My dear friend has never played the original games, and I bought them for her with the idea that she would be able to play them with her xbox controller. She is having a hell of a time trying to maneuver herself in Lara's home. Watching her play I see that the controls seem loose and she cannot seem to move about without looking like she's drunk. When I play on the keyboard everything is crisp and sharp, and I can stop on a dime and achieve pinpoint control. I never use a controller so I have zero advice for her. She tried both tank and modern controls, but both seem to have issues. Any advice for getting it to work sharply?

Good to see you again Eddie. Try using tank and dpad on controller to move.

Modern on gamepad (but it needs the camera to be fixed ASAP !)
Tank on keyboards

Tank on my Switch controllers. Much easier to move around and do combat.

Tank controls. I haven't even tried the modern controls tbh. Like I said in another thread, at first I was curious to try them out but once I realized the tank controls work with both the d-pad and the left analog stick, I just didn't care to try out the modern controls anymore.

Tank controls because I've become so used to it with these three games and the modern controls are nothing like LAU.

Problem is, they would be like LAU if she strafed when targeting (rather than just pulling her guns out). The combat is what lets down the modern controls.

I tried while playing the manor but I just can’t do tanks with a controller. Modern controls do work quite well for platforming… though they’re a bit messy in combat.

Thanks. She is trying it the way you mentioned. Hopefully she can 'get over the hump" and enjoy the game as I really want her to do.

Tank with the keyboard. Always.
