Tank with keyboard as I have always played in the past.

Sidenote, but playing TR1 with the controls of TR2 feels amazing. She used to have this weird delay to her jumps, which used to force me to stop at ledges and hop back for a run up every single time, whereas now I feel more weightless and more fluid. Plus being able to turn mid jumps just feels right. Huge props to Aspyr for that.

Tank with a controller / Joy Cons (Switch). I have no real interest in trying the modern controls, but maybe I'll give them a quick whirl in Lara's house.

Since I've been playing with tank controls since the original TR in 1996, I'll definitely stick with the tank controls.

I moved from PSOne to PC and PSP/Vita, then solely to PC, and now from PC to Switch after nearly 15 years, so I'm afraid the tank controls on console are just as 'new' to me as the modern ones. Had to do a bit of reassignment for buttons, but I've gone with modern.

If I was on PC, I'd definitely use the tank controls though

It's really good they included both. But tank all the way for me, it just feels right. I can see why new players wouldn't like them however.

I noticed this too, another little thing I am inpressed with. Hopefully it will make the flame pillars on Palace Midas a bit easier (I've not got that far yet).

I started with modern controls just to try it, but I ended up switching back to tank.

I missed being able to backflip, side jump and hop backwards without having the guns drawn too much.

Tank with xBox controller on PC. Muscle memory, and lots of hours spent on TRLEs.

Obviously Tank Controls, Old school TR fans don't whine like nowadays generation gamers.

Tank controls. Reason being that the games were built around the tank controls. It feels more natural. Just to be clear, for all releases since Tomb Raider Legend, I do prefer the modern controls. For the same reason, the games being specifically built to work with them.
