There are many aspects I love about the games. But there are also many glaring flaws that should not have been present at launch. That is a hard truth. Whather that is a fault of the bosses not giving them enough time, or poor project management, I don't know. I do know that the game is wildly unfinished, AND the launch attitude from them is absolutely poor. |

When you pay money for something, you expect it to be a good and finished product. When it isn't, you have a right to be upset. Imagine if you ordered a sweatshirt and it came without arms. Would you just go "well they worked hard on everything else"? No.

There's no excuse. I understand the people being upset, but Aspyr officially made an update announcement already. Still some of you on this forum keeps being disrespectful and childish. I don't care if you're offended anymore. Your money does not justify your attitude.
If you are that upset, then ask for a refund. And if you can't do it, don't pre-order a game next time. |

People who are writing how the games are already so good that they would be fine if nothing is fixed (other than 1 thing they care about) are complete clowns.
But at the same time, I think that with an official patch announcment, we should at the very least give Aspyr the benefit of a doubt. If the EGS version is any indication, the first patch will most likely fix the vast majority of the most critical issues. But to be honest, I would like to see a lot more improvements in the visual department in - including a complete remaster of the fmv sequences and a lot more work on the expansions. This is why it is important to not be a complete clown and let Aspyr get off the hook too easy. There is still a lot of work to be done - and if we all just roll over and say no improvements are needed - all you are doing at that point is being a simp for the suits who will gladly take your money and leave you with an inferior product as they laugh their way to the bank. |

Does this justify anger? Absolutely. It’s a crappy practice that has slowly crept its way into the industry. Is it frustrating? Extremely. But there’s people acting like this has never happened before and going way overboard with all of this. A patch is coming. We need to be patient. It’s not an ideal situation but it is what it is. There is nothing we can do to change it. The game has issues, but to call it a beta or unfinished compared to other very, very unfinished games that have been put out in recent years is just laughable. We got lucky given the state of the industry. Not justifying it, but it could have been much, much worse. We need to accept this and be patient for the patch. Modern gaming sucks, unfortunately. It’s less about putting out a quality product now and it’s all money money money. Baldur’s Gate 3 and Larion Studios by extension have been hailed because they actually have put out a finished, good game with frequent patches. That’s how it used to be, and how it should be. But we don’t live in that world anymore and I mourn it. Last edited by bitterwinter; 29-02-24 at 22:54. |

Although I'm generally OK with what I played so far (and yes the only thing that absolutely needs attention is the modern controls), most of the complaints seem fair. Obviously, I would love the team to make this the best remaster of all time, but I didn't have the highest expectations, and I think they delivered exactly what they intended... something that looks a little better.
All feedback should be welcome, both positive and negative. And if it happens to be more negative, then that just suggests something might be up. I agree with everything egypt_gyptsy has said, I don't think she is being rude or disrespectful. A lot can be improved, and it's great that people feel passionately enough to push (the ones above) the developers to realise the true value of the remaster. |
