Not only that, it would be extremely delicate, we are talking about hiding someone nationality for whatever reason, that’s xenophobia. I hope it is not true and there is no bad intentions on false rumours neither.

I know people pretend Crystal Dynamics is the source of all evil in the Tomb Raider universe, but XProger explicitly said it was Aspyr who had them removed from the communication channels. Let's to try to not pin this one thing on Crystal Dynamics for once.

This. IIRC there was a misunderstanding between Aspyr and Crystal. They thought Saber staff could communicate on Discord but actually Aspyr doesn't allow that and Crystal wanted to keep a good relationship with them so they accepted their wish.

Something worse than pointing the finger at CD every chance they get?

Defending CD at all.

Therefore, I am not entirely sure what cutting them from the post launch and feedback support team would achieve, other than probably cutting costs and leaving Aspyr’s in-house team to fix bugs and glitches?
Aspyr not being happy with the final result of the game, perhaps? Thus leaving then to fix the game in-house as you mentioned. Just a wild guess, but that scenario would be understandable if Aspyr is as passionate about this project as they claimed to be in that first playstation blog post, and it's their name that's printed on it by the end of the day.

As good as the remasters turned out to be we can't deny there is some lack of polish here and there for reasons still unknown.

The reception by both the public and press seems to be quite good: "Owner estimations: ~65.0 k by SteamSpy, ~78.4 k by VG Insights, ~84.3 k by Gamalytic, ~142.2 k by PlayTracker. 87.42% positive reviews."

I certainly don't think there's anything about the game itself or the reception that would warrant cutting off Saber or preventing them from participating in post-launch support.

Note: not yet sure that's what's happening, but I can see why folks are concerned.

Wait? What? Why?!

I've heard this claim that Saber had hired some Russian modders for this project secretly without Aspyr and Crystal knowing.(I don't know if this is false or true)
Oh wait, XProger is from Russia, but he's also a Tomb Raider fan and OpenLara's creator and currently serving as the Technical Director at Saber Interactive.

Do you think that they had an issue with him? That would be just disgusting.

Please, tell me this isn't true.

Who cares if they're Russian, African or German?

It's about the talent and maybe cutting costs, which in the end benefits the games.

I truly hope this isn't true! If it turns out to be true, I swear that I will stop supporting their products altogether.
Although, this wouldn't surprise me, since they are pretty political, or at least their employees are on X.

What do any of the world's wars have to do with Tomb Raider? Keep politics and personal opinions out of our games!

Enough is enough! First they tell us for years the narrative that no one would be interested in Remasters, and afterwards they pull something like this?

Again, Aspyr did it, not Crystal. It's XProger's words. Please stop writing fanfiction about Crystal being the final boss standing in the way of everything nice and fun in the world.

Where have I said this? Don't put words in my mouth! I just said that it wouldn't surprise me if it was true.

I really doubt that CD needs a knight in shining armor to defend them, especially from me, someone who likes all TR games.

Anywhoo...

I just saw the trailer for Epic Mickey, remastered by Purple Lamp and published by THQ Nordic, which is part of EMBRACER:

They remade the FMVs. Is there a chance that remade FMVs could be a part of a future patch?

I'm not really surprised because, let's be real, communication has been consistently **** throughout the whole pre-release promotional cycle.

Yes I know there's a certain budget they have to stick to with advertising (which was apparently $10 judging by the precious little promotion these remasters did get). Yet they did kind of go stone cold silent on us for months after the initial reveal. They didn't even post anything to free blogs or send representatives onto social media to chat with netizens, like EM did in the development cycle for Shadow.
