I'm working on improved Dutch/Nederlands for all three games. The translation is also way off and weird in most of the cases.

Merci ! Les textes par défaut sont vraiment bizarres, ils auraient dû conserver les traductions originales comme base déjà.

Sadly Japanese mostly mismatches the original strings and level names from the PS1 games. Alot more direct english-jpn loanwords as opposed to native words they used to use. In one of the manor TR1 lines she explains a running jump setup will make Lara dress in drag oops

The Swedish translation is, uh, interesting. Some of the dialogue translations are quite clever, still others are unnaturally literal/direct, there are lots of grammatical/stylistic errors - they even left "St. Francis Folly" and "Atlantean Scion" entirely untranslated in the subtitles for the Natla Technologies FMV.

The level itself is translated as "St. Francis dårskap," which is "folly" in the sense of "foolishness," similar to how it's been translated in other languages. I'd use "fåfänga" instead, which actually conveys the same meaning of "structure built for aesthetics" that the original intended, but is also the word for "vanity" and has the connotation of (arrogant) stupidity, thus.

I'll have to get to work on my own translation, even if nobody's going to be using it. Probably not even me.

Atlantis > Atlantide

It has been left untranslated in the game, both as the title of LVL_LEVEL10B and as a term in dialogues.

"Scion" has been translated as "medaglione", which, although generic, makes sense. "Scion" literally translates as "discendente" (descendant, offspring) or "germoglio" (bud, sprout); using "Germoglio" (as a proper name, thus uppercase like "Scion") for the artefact would be original yet weird, also considering that Lara collects its first piece (and has it in her inventory) even before it is mentioned at the end of the Peru section when she talks with Larson, and she did not know its name before then. "Medaglione" is fine.

TR2, better titles/names:

HARPOON=Fucile subacqueo (it was translated as "arpione", but "arpione" in Italian defines its projectiles)
HARPOONAMMO=Arpioni (it was translated as "fiocine", but "fiocina" in Italian defines a many-pronged harpoon, which is not the type found in the game)

LVL_LIVING=Alloggi
LVL_EMPRTOMB=Tempio dello Xian ("Xian" here is a general concept meaning "Immortal")
LVL_LEVEL4=Il regno (it has been translated as "Regno" alone, but it is too generic, and in this case it is better with the article "Il")

PUZ_THE_SERAPH=Sigillo del Serafo (it represents a "serafo/serafino", but in the Italian dialogues it is called "Sigillo")
PUZ_THE_DRAGON_SEAL=Sigillo del Drago (without "Il" article)

I have been unable to find the entry for the Talion object (the key to the Temple of Xian) in the text files; in case, it should be named simply "Talion".

(I am happy that the developers have already corrected themselves the gross Italian mistranslations of "40 Fathoms" and "The Deck" which plagued the original game for 17 years)

TR3, better titles/names:

HARPOON=Fucile subacqueo
HARPOONAMMO=Arpioni

ICON3=Occhio di Iside (without "L'" article)
ICON4=Pugnale Ora (uppercase "Ora")

LVL_ROOFS=Banchina sul Tamigi
LVL_TOWER=Porta di Lud or Ludgate ("gate" was translated as "cancello", which in italian is a grated door only; anyway, this area of London is known simply as "Ludgate" in Italian)
LVL_SCOTLAND=Avventura sugli altopiani
LVL_CHUNNEL=Scogliera di Shakespeare (it's on the sea, so it is more precisely a "scogliera")
LVL_UNDERSEA=Dormire con i pesci

PUZ_OCEANIC_MASK=Maschera oceaniana
PUZ_THE_HAND_OF_RATHMORE=Mano di Rathmore (without "La" article)
PUP_HAND=Mano di Rathmore (without "La" article)

You missed another translation in TRIII. In the original, a gun was called "Aquila del Deserto". Now it's called properly "Desert Eagle", which is really good.

Italian fellows have this issue too apparently, where some items have a definite article sometimes for no real reason like "The Hand of Rathmore".
Even in English, it's weird. Every item should be written without articles, it's just awkward.

Since this is a feedback post, could I ask for a 4:3 mode to be implemented? At least for the original graphics?

This feedback is out of place here. This thread is only for feedback about language usage and translations. The appropriate thread for your request is "General Feedback & Requests": https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...d.php?t=228895

Amending my previous comment: the correct translation in Portuguese is "Aventura nas Terras Altas": https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terras..._(Esc%C3%B3cia)
