I want a special heat-haze distortion effect to be applied in Croft Manor each time Winston farts.

It's a compromise and you can still see the split between the water and the waterfall texture, but it's definitely better than how it looks now.
Why not just make the waterfall texture more opaque so that you can't see the map objects behind it? A great stream like that should obscure your view because of the thousands of little water droplets scattering and reflecting light in different directions.

Wreck of Maria Doria's restaurant area has a massive hole in the wall which Lara can see through in Remastered Mode - this should not be there as in OG.

Offshore Rig, the room with the moving crane hooks - the hook 3D model in Remastered Mode has a piece of metal on the end that shouldn't be there. The team clearly reused the static model from Diving Area and forgot to remove it.

Its such a shame - for all the amazing new details they added, other things which have been quite obvious and glaring have yet to be fixed. I appreciate the team can't work on this game indefinitely..

This patch must have changed something because even when using SFX mod for TR2, several sound effects are still the original ones. And it's annoying.

I've been playing around with the games on patch 4. For now I've been paying attention to the water.

Underwater seems to have this very nice thick fog, which creates a sensation of density. It's pretty good and an improvement.

The water surface however, varies a bit from game to game (yeah I find it weird too). Thus far it seems like TR1 suffers the most, with places like Vilcabamba or Lost Valley having ponds and water courses where the surface is barely discernible. It just doesn't look good. ON THE OTHER HAND THOUGH, then you get to Venice in TR2, and the water has these really nice pseudo reflexions that mirror the hues from the sky box, and confer this sensation of surface tension to the water surface. Also in these levels in TR2 you cannot quite make out what's going on under the surface (compared to TR1, where everything is way too crystal clear, to the point of it sometimes seeming there is no water at all.... until you fall into it). In TR2, the Opera House in particular has excellent water surfaces, which are gorgeous to look at.

All in all, it seems like the surface texture/ animation for water varies a lot depending on the game. I sure do hope TR1 gets improved to this TR2 standard.

The Misty Hillside in the Crash Site level in the remaster has almost no fog. I found the texture 3331.DDS responsible for the fog, but it does not cover the entire area and is barely visible. Does anyone know if there is another texture in the texture list that is currently transparent, but can be edited to get fog in this location?

Seems like Réunion skybox was updated, before it was more red, now it's features a bit of extra blue/purple Nebula affect, looks better for sure.

Great little news for Steam (Deck?) players using playstation controllers:

I play using a steam deck and the game works great in a portable set up. However, when connecting to an external screen and playing with a Dual Sense controller, rumble/vibration does not work at all. Steam input bug? Hard to say... In the past as a workaround, I tried disabling steam input and rely on native controller implementation but...then the controller stopped working completely!

But now, with patch 4, it works and rumble works as well. Perhaps the devs added Bluetooth Dual Sense support? In any case, if you play on steam and your controller does not vibrate, try disabling steam input and see if it works! I am very happy about this! Controller Vibration functionality is really well implemented in these games, and I missed it.

I preferred the previous version of the Sky Box.
