Default Tomb Raider Remastered MODS needed

Hi guys so I created this Thread because our community have amazing and talented modders.

So I think with such a big amount of talent and dedication ( we have hundreds of outfits, poses and weapon variations for Remasters) maybe some willing souls would try to work on certain stuff that is overlooked in Remasters and most likely wont be improved...


We are having few movable objects in game. Most of them are improved so they have more corners and looking better than just square, but some are left behind. I have 3 examples . ICE BLOCKS in Tibetan foothills , block of pillars in Floating Islands, and block with GOD face in Furnace of the Gods.

I know its small thing but in my opinion these small things adding a lot to Remasters, Ice blocks could be not ideal square shape, also pillars from floating could have some curves just like some blocks in TR1. The block with blue face could be done also more rounded since its not block that we will jump on etc.

Also another example is blade trap. It could be changed and instead of being metal hole it could be actually that face we see on texture behind it. or it could have shape of mouth. one of key in Temple of Xian have very similar dragon Face so could be remodeled to be used as this trap.

Now i know its small etc but would improve levels like Tibet and GM and china since they got a bit less love than other locations in trilogy.

(BTW I am playing with mods myself (mostly textures) you can find my mods correcting book sizes in Croft manor, or making male statue on Venice more naked , recoloring plants on maria doria etc )

I just wish I could extract and edit the textures myself (mainly the bad AI upscales in a few textures)
Sadly my PC refuses to open the DDS format (it opens older DDS though)
Otherwise I'd do some things myself..
(Venice statue has a sword hand merging. Rig has a weird metal mish-mash when it should be a fence with an orange watertank behind it)

If someone could provide the TGA files in a usable format like PNG, I could edit them, and have someone convert them back to DDS for ingame?

Are you using Photoshop?

You’re right; it’s better for mod makers to prioritize significant fixes to the game rather than just changing costumes or creating less significant mods, like those featuring characters from GTA or Shrek. It’s encouraging to know that there’s hope for these suggestions to be included in future updates, as I’ve heard they’re reviewing the feedback submitted in the dedicated comments section.

There's a Shrek mod?

On a more serious note, I would like a mod to adjust the colours of the transparent menu. Someone posted a nice edit of the colour with TR2 having a green menu instead of red.

Or if someone can show us how to open the dds files.

my wishes are 2:

1) hybrid controls (modern + tanks on DPAD)
2) Fix texture weird mismatches between textures tiles, as much as possible. (quite bad for example in the Tibet level)

The first one sounds like it'd be quite complex and a lot of work so I wouldn't hold my breath. The second one would require editing the level meshes which we unfortunately cannot do yet (I think there's WIP exporter but no way to import the edited levels back into the game.) but hopefully at some point down the line.

I already use a dozen mods for this game and with them the game is perfect for me (and no I am not gonna bring THAT topic here).

The only two nitpicks that I currently have that a potential future mod can resolve are the restoration of TR2 wavey flag in the inventory and as canesalato mentioned better tiles alignment.

I specifically remember how many grass/vine tiles in TR1 look so odd because they do not connect to one another.

This is a good question actually - feeling no as I imagine much like in OG format, skyboxes in TR2 and 3 are just very very large singular objects (one mesh)

TR4 and 5 remasters with their actual scrolling cloud graphics in the OG...they may look really cool in HD mode
