It’s really to blame for allowing politicians to treat corporations like they’re citizens and citizens like they’re garbage. So many laws and stuff could be passed to help out the common worker of the country but a lot of times people are misinformed or told lies on who to vote for and who they vote for will not help them. Active voting against the interests of the people is a serious issue here in America.

Hopefully things will change soon! If not, I’m sure we’ll be witnessing the beginning of the downfall of America. Too greedy to go on.

the people here are paid literally maybe two dollars an hour. They need tips.
I've never worked in the restaurant industry so I might be wrong, but aren't employers still required to cover the difference if the tips you earn for a day are less than the minimum wage amount?

Not at all. At least not from what friends/people I know tell me.

Almost every 3 months or so one of these far right loonies appear on my twitter timeline getting laughed at because they've been de-platformed and now cant find work while all at the same time begging for money. I mean what do you expect when you spend years on social media regurgitating literal nazi rhetoric and beliefs? rest in piss.

In the museum were I work you're supposed to put all the tips you receive in the tipbox and then it's gone forever, I mean they're not distributing it equally among the employees. Gods know what happens to it...

So, I never received a tip. Or so my bosses think...

I think it depends on a state by state basis. I think some states do have a law or regulation that says if a server/hostess/waiter/etc did not receive a total amount of tips by the end of the night then they’d be required to pay them at least minimum wage for their days work. Unfortunately minimum wage here in America has not changed and has not kept up with the cost of goods. No longer is the minimum wage thought of as a base line income that is needed for an American citizen to survive like food, housing, running water, heat.. and it’s more thought of as how low can businesses pay people while maximizing profits for the company.

There are many companies that are allowed to pay below minimum wage. Things like Uber or Lyft, call centers like Gallup, restaurants that require some staff members like waiters/hostesses to rely on tips.

ugh FWP decision. Do I go all out on fancy new phone, or just stick to budget range.

Do whatever makes you happy! Then again I splurged a thousand on my Huawei p30 pro on a whim... Great phone but maybe I should have just waited for the price to drop
