I hate her fmv braid. Honestly the one from in-game TR3 or 4 would have worked just fine.

Ah, you're right - there's proper flame emitters at the bottom.
The Lava itself looks still kinda flat, though and the fire bubbles also still seem to be sprites instead of particle effects. I hope they'll have enough time to fine tune those effects even more.

Had to log onto these forums again to say how excited I am about this announcement - and how happy I am to see that this site and community is still active!

According to my profile my last visit before this one was in 2008 ... it gives me such a happy feeling to think back to the days of the TR Level Editor and all the fan creations and the creativity you could put into it.

Thank you to all the admins and mods who keep this site running!!

After a rewatch, the camera seems to behave a bit differently than the OG in the clip where she dives in the water pool in The Great Pyramid. Did anyone else catch this or am I just seeing things?

I think the trailer makes use of many custom camera angles - the jump scene might be no exception. Don't know what that means for the controls. I think I'd like to have (an optional) free camera mode.

I think they're using a new engine, so it's normal that it "feels" different or smoother. It's fine by me long as core game mechanics work the way they should.

I wouldn't be surprised if the camera is different based upon which control scheme you're using either TBH.

I would say all effects will be updated for the final product, and any untouched ones seen in the trailer are from an unfinished build.

We already have confirmation from the attached screenshot that the water in the trailer is not how it will look in the final game:
