It should go straight to the opening FMV after the Core logos. Original CD or some other version (GOG, Steam etc)?
If I have a problem with an old game freezing the first thing I do is go to Properties > Compatibility and test the Settings, one by one. Start with 640x480 resolution as that has solved several refusal to play issues for me. |

Unusual.
What about the other info about the version you're using? Just found this thread which I hope might solve your problem:- https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...=220619&page=2 Post #15 is the relevant one - a problem with the config.txt file. I had trouble with that config.txt about 18 months ago when my long working TR3 installation suddenly developed controller issues out of the blue. Not sure if anything there will be relevant to your trouble but here is the link to that thread too:- https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...d.php?t=219043 Last edited by fallenangle; 04-08-19 at 11:24. Did you check the VirtualStore the thread mentions and delete or replace any config.txt file there?
I think I have this right: if you launch the game as admin it saves everything in the game's own folder but if you launch it normally it saves to the VirtualStore. If you just created the file in the game's folder the one in VirtualStore may be taking precedence. VirtualStore is a normally hidden system folder and does not seem to want to show itself if you use Windows search either. So you will need to change your folder settings to access it and then go to:- "C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Core Design\Tomb Raider III\config.txt" to find it. Hope it is this - fingers crossed. |
