Watched this but it seems they're still going the ST3 direction, which I hated massively. Season 1 was oozing with atmosphere, mystery, sense of danger coming from every side. But then they went full teenager sitcom style with mediocre science-fiction and comedy elements. Oh and the biggest joke of the entire franchise - the introduction of russians, because it always has to be russians, rite? Rite?

I really liked this trailer except that bacon lara lookalike guy.
Season 1 was really exciting and interesting for me but seasons 2 and 3 didn't satisfy me. But this new trailer made me feel the same was I did in Season 1. I hope it will live up to my expectations. I really enjoyed what I saw in this trailer and I think the episodes will make me feel on the edge. Only thing I'm not sure is that meaty looking man, it looks so cheap but I hope he has a good satisfying story behind him. |

I just binged watch the episodes 1-7 of Season 4 and overall this season is definitely a step up from Season 3. I can't wait until July 1 when the remaining episodes are released! Here are my thoughts (Spoilers - please don't read unless you watched Season 4 through episode 7.)
Good:
- Vecna is a great villain so far and probably the creepiest monster in the series. I enjoyed his backstory told through different perspectives. I also like the twist at the end of episode 7 where he was actually one of Dr. Brennan's experimental children. - Some of my favorite new characters this season are Eddie Munson and Argyle. - I like some of the new character dynamics like Nancy/Robin and Joyce/Murray. - I like how some of the characters are facing their past trauma like El, Nancy, and Max. - Speaking of El, I do like how they are revisiting her past at Hawkins lab. Bad: - The Russian prison storyline is very boring and I'm finding myself losing interesting during those scenes. I didn't care for them in Season 3 and I'm disappointed they are a big portion of this season. - Hopper is one of my favorite characters and I hate the only interaction he had with any of the main characters so far is with Joyce at the end of episode 7. - The Mike/Will/Jonathan storyline is pretty underwhelming as well and I wish they had more interactions with the other main characters. |

Just finished watching S4 V1 and I was stunned into silence. There has been some fantastic acting. Sadie Sink as Max has been exceptional, in Ep4 especially. I'm honestly still a little lost for words. Eddie Munson and Argyle are great additions.

Season 4 is unspeakably good. It was worth the wait imo.

Three different storylines that will probably gather in the season finale.
The Duffer Brothers have surely filmed different season finale versions and they are waiting for public feedback to decide which version release. This is why the delay to july. There are very good moments in these 7 episodes, overall I enjoyed the show, but imo there are some cast problems. I mean, some of the actors are overgrown and they are not suitable anymore in their roles. The cast's alchemy is lost, I'm sorry. I like Eddie (probably a tribute to Eddie Van Hallen?) but you can't continuously add new characters without removing the ones which don't work anymore. If there will ever be a season 5 (and I hope not) they must take important and courageous decisions about the cast. I think a spin-off focused on some character would be better than a new season. |
