The Lost Artifact is a stand-alone game unlike UB and GM so even if someone decided to do that, it’s illegal.

^ Well, if someone ever dares to convert TLA to ps1, they can release the data files (similar to what happened to Unfinished Business ps1 port) so only who has bought the original TR3 on ps1 can play it, and AFAIK this is legal.
And aside that... TLA is kinda "lost". There's a petition to the game to be free just like the others expansions, so if this becomes reality, wouldn't be a problem to release a complete disk just like what happened to GM. Last edited by ReH_; 08-08-20 at 03:58. |

Yeah, but that's the ****ty part. SquEnix is refusing to sell it digitally and also refuses to waive copyright to it. Meaning, you can't get it legally unless you get a hold of it physically. You basically have to go criminal if you want to play it.
Justin is doing his best though with his contacts at SquEnix to change that. But he says it's quite a struggle. Hopefully he'll be successful soon. And hey, maybe this will be part of TRUE? |

It's awful that UB, GM and The Lost Artefact are PC exclusives It would be great to play them on PSX Moreover, the experience on the PlayStation could be better than on PC with the extra effects like the reverb in TR3.

I really don’t care about the legality of it… but only releasing the data files would not be legal. It works for Unfinished Business and Golden Mask, since you could download the data files on PC for free, but you need the original PC game to run them - and you can apply the same to PS1. Although for Lost Artefact, the data files are ‘bought’ as part of the entire standalone game, so legally you can’t release the data files.

Unfinished Business has been ported to PS1 twice. The first port was made by Gh0stblade, and is available for download. It does have some content cut to fit withing the PS1's limits (namely the removal of some enemies), but it's a very impressive port. The second port was made by me, and is sadly not available for download yet because it was originally planned to have an unofficial physical release, but there were delays due to the pandemic. This port however does not have any cut content, and will be released later this year. The Golden Mask has also been ported to PS1 by me, and is available for download on my website (b122251.org). This also doesn't have any cut content, however, there are two slight bugs I still want to work out at some point in the future (namely on the PAL version there is a problem when saving at a specific point in level 1, and when going to Nightmare in Vegas, not all weapons are removed). The bugs aren't too bad, but they still need to be fixed. The Lost Artefact has never been ported to PS1, and porting it would be extremely difficult, as the levels are absolutely huge. The legality of it doesn't interest me too much, as I don't think Square Enix would be too bothered by a PS1 version of the Lost Artefact, but just technically making it would be very, very difficult. |

As for the a PS1 version of TLA, if something has to be cut to fit in PS1 RAM, i can live with that. |
