I mean, the films being in the same timeline as the games (which, afaik, hasn't actually been confirmed anywhere and I kinda hope they won't be) doesn't necessarily mean that they're set at the same point in that timeline. The events of the films/series could well take place in between the reboot trilogy and the next game.

I hope that Alicia Vikander returns as Lara Croft in a new Tomb Raider story.
I've also seen some images with Alicia Vikander wearing the Rise of the Tomb Raider outfit for Tomb Raider the live experience. She looks pretty good. Does it mean that Rise of the Tomb Raider is canon, and completed now?
