Oh, yeah, they're throwing us double the games at half the quality! How can I not be excited?!

T_T

If Relic Run didn't exist, I would probably be okay with the whole situation as of now, but there you have this silly, unoriginal game that has been done a million times before and was clearly made just to rob us of our cash, and just a few months later they're already announcing another LC mobile game. How else can I react? "Oh, yay, another LC game with classic Lora, green shirt, dual pistols, hurr hurr, boners"? No. The LC games were intially made almost as an homage to the classic games, with it's gameplay, but Relic Run was an endless runner, where you just swipe left, right, up and down, which is obviously nothing like the classics, but of course, people here eat it up because they see Lara in a green shirt and instantly forget everything else, deluding themselves that it's a "real Tomb Raider" and all that rubbish. Honestly, they could release a "Don't Tap the White Line" rip-off with Classic Lara simply designed on the tiles and people here would probably still wet their pants over it.

Fans also have this "as long as it's fun, what's the problem?" mindset, which is fine, people can play and like whatever they want at the end of the day, but they should like it for what it is, not what it's branded to be, otherwise we'll be getting all kinds of "games", people will just be "having fun" and these games being a "Lara Croft" game will have lost it's meaning. I've been a TR fan all my life and I just don't like too see my favourite series subjected to every gaming trope under the sun just so it can make a few bucks.

With Lara Croft GO, at least it actually looks like it has more classic TR elements, especially with it's puzzle solving and it's "think first" approach, so I am optimistic about it, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go all gaga over it just because they threw in dual pistols and some TR1 music into it. I will play it, but that doesn't mean I have to be happy about it. But that's just me!

I liked Temple Run and I think Relic Run is fun too. I refuse to do any microtransactions though. I think a game like that is worth a maximum of $5 and for that price I expect the full game.

I'm assuming (hoping?) that Lara Croft Go! will be a regular game like Hitman Go! where you pay once up front and then you have the full thing. I'm really enjoying Hitman Go! so far, and what little I saw of Lara Croft Go! in the video looked very creative and interesting. I'm glad that they've adapted it with classic TR gameplay elements instead of just re-skinning the Hitman game. That ought to lend itself to different puzzles

It's blue in Relic Run, I'll give you that. Just goes to show how much garbage that "game" really is.

No, but seriously, it's green. It's even green in Lara Croft GO, so you know, just accept it, Philip.

They have already confirmed that it will just be as you described: one payment, full game. But Hitman GO allowed you to buy extra clues, so maybe LC GO will have that too. But if it's like H GO, at least it won't be so "in your face" about it like with Relic Run.

I see what you did there with my quote Her shirt is a bluish green, but I agree that in most of the games it's a little more towards the green end.

Anyhow, thanks for letting me know that LC Go will be a one-time-payment thing I didn't even notice any option to buy more stuff in Hitman Go, so if it's as non-intrusive as that then it's fine with me.

New thread incoming?

@Mikky, while I see where your criticism towards Relic Run comes from, I have to say in its defense, that it's not the typical runner as every other similar game out there. It features elements that haven't been seen in other runners and that are more related to TR, like relics, vehicles, enemies...

If this game follows in the footsteps of Hitman Go and is released on the Windows 10 store, I'll get it.

You're not the only one, I am also loving this. I agree with everything you said, I think that we should value, after all, they are less cool than others.
