Who thought pot-smashing for treasures was a good idea?

I don't mind 10 pots for the maximum but 90% is pretty lame. I don't think it's "hey why not hide all the secrets in pots ?" but more "OMG we're out of time and we forgot the secrets ! Hurry up we have to do something" and there it is...

Ugh, I know. I wish they’d kept the Anniversary system of a few artefacts and one of two well-hidden relics. No one cares about a million tiny white cubes.

They could have at least tried hiding the treasures in different pots for some surprise factor
![]() But no, you eventually find out which are the ones that will always have a treasure inside.

Yeah Anniversary had one of the best secret systems in the series, you still had traditional ammo/health secrets (though with how easy the headshot system was, it basically made power-weapons redundant outside of bosses and you'd only use them because of the ammo-limit.), but you had relics which unlocked bonus outfits (The AOD camo shorts in the PSP version that also re-skin Lara's backpack to the AOD one is my favourite!), all they'd have to do in a sequel is increase/ditch the ammo limit, increase the number of health/ammo secrets and reduce the amount out in the open and it'd be the best secret system, maybe also throw in relics increasing Lara's max health like Underworld to encourage going for them in repeat playthroughs and it'd be the best secret system in the series

Until I am proven otherwise I am 90 percent sure most of those collectables were meant to be ammo pick ups and they just never got around to adding ammo pick ups to underworld, its the only logical reason I can think of why there are so many of them aside from an EXTREME case of trying to pad out the game

I'm probably the only one who has ever felt like this and ever will, but I actually like TRU's treasure system
![]() Having more treasures means that I'll hear that enjoyable "bluuum" more often, also pot smashing is pretty fun. It also gets faster when you know the type of pot you have to smash. Shooting them is pretty relaxing too.
