Weta working on Tomb Raider 25 statue - progress update

I contacted wetanz with these images. And asked if thats the real statue.

I will cancel it, if its true.

Unfortunately looks like final product. These images originated via Instagram account DX Toys. They reviewed the final product.

I think bad lighting has it issues but more so the final face sculpt. Face looks longer and the lips are off (top lip is much smaller and the teeth are way to visible).

It’s a petty statue but for the price the sold it and for the limited run they produced I’d except better results.

I have the SoTR one from Weta and it’s flawless. So they can get it done well. Not sure what happened now.

Ok, I have to say it, but outside of the weird overbite (what the hell was the person painting that statue thinking?), I kind of prefer the new face. I dunno, I like how leaner itt looks.

But that could be from the lighting, anyways.

The statue still looks really impressive, but who hand painted that unit sure made some questionable choices on Lara's face... Hopefully it is a problem with that particular unit and not the entire line. I remember some of their Shadow statues looking flawless, but others also having similar problems. Hopefully most statues look closer to the advertised version...

Iif there's any kind of QA at Weta, they will not release a SINGLE one looking like that. Not for that price.
If mine looks like that, I'm pushing for a refund.

Honestly, not going to judge at all. I'd probably do the same thing, especially for that price.

But again, I do hope it was a problem just with that particular statue and y'all who preorder it get a great quality unit!

A scam! As usual with these (overpriced) figurines and statues. They almost never match the quality they are using to advertise them. Not sure why are ppl still bothering and pre-ordering/buying these dust collectors.

Thank you for the information. I looked it up on Instagram and some of the photos look alot better and more like advertised on there so I will likely keep my preorder, however, her teeth still look weird and some of the paint, like the blood on her elbows looks ridiculously bad.

I'm getting out of the statue game because I just have too many and the prices are becoming insane so this will be my last send off on ordering new ones other than the rest of the gaming heads ones.
