Yeah, Core's remake started while Legend was being made, that's why the 3D model for Lara looks a lot like early Legend Lara.
As for Crystal "using" Core's concept art, well it's possible, but I also think they wanted to do what they did with Lara -> use similar looking things so people doesn't get confused. About Melissa I never understood her look. I think Core wanted to make her different so she's not a Lara clone, but it was way too much. They could have made her more girly, or even more sporty then Lara, but that Melissa outfit is just... it feels like it came from a manga. |

No, they said this beforehand:
So they thought the concept art in question was meant for Melissa and then reused for Amanda by Crystal. But it was meant for Natla, not Melissa. |

I’m not about that either. There are a couple of visual cues that I like about the design, but most of it just looks like Core were inspired by the skater phase and decided to do something with it.
It would have been better if you could play as Natla, one of the goons, or some other person entirely imo. |

Larson and Pierre would've been good fits, seeing as they are both treasure hunters, as well. Maybe Lara's animations would've looked off on a male character, though.
