I only see him returning at least in a direct way if they adapt the flashback scene, because the whole first movie was about Lara dealing with Richard, and by the end she closed that door. But besides that, I think Richard's involvement in a SotTR-inspired sequel would just be a small, indirect part of Lara's motivation. Lara's main motive would be that Trinity keeps messing with her life even when she active avoids them. What happened to Richard would just be one of those things, but perhaps not even mentioned directly.

Hell, if I was at the helm of this sequel, I'd specifically make a plot point that Lara isn't going after Ana because of Richard, but because she has been manipulating Lara since she was only 14 and grieving. Hopefully the movie will already do something similar to this, I have faith in Ben and Amy as storytellers.

We'll probably get some flashbacks exploring Ana and Richard's relationship but I see no reason to give him a substantial role.

Ana is overrated. At least let her be Reboot Natla’s sister...
How would that be interesting at all...?
Ana is an interesting character because she’s a maternal figure to Lara. She’s known Lara since she was a child and obviously deeply cares about her. Yet at the same time, she’s also part of the reason as to why Lara’s entire life has been changed.

What would be interesting is to see Lara being utterly shocked if Anna was killed at the end or even bolder at the middle of the movie and then go full rempage because she understand her motivations as a person and was attached to her even tho she wouldn't admit it. I would like to see her like trying to close the good memories of the moments she have with her when she was younger and then full reopened it as the movie goes by wich made Lara decided to not kill Anna.

I'd like to see a sentimental sort of redemption arc too so I don't think Lara should be the one to kill Ana. I could see her being at the point of killing her but then letting her go only for her to be killed by Trinity.

I wonder if they'll actually include her cancer plot line in the film, presumably if her illness was that bad and she had been linked to the Croft's for that long would it really make sense for her motivation as a Trinity member to be solely to find a cure for her disease that's taken her atleast ten years to die from?

They need to make it clearer what her motivation is and see her disease as the turning point in which she perhaps decides to make the wreckless decisions.

Having Anainfiltrate the Croft's , taking over their empire, acting as Lara's guardian and then having a disease and seeking the cure might come off as too convulted if it isn't done properly. They need to establish that she worked for Trinity and developed genuine feelings for the Croft family and then years later diagnosed and in desperation wanted to become a survivor mirroring Lara's story.

We need a confirmation of when and where will the shooting start. We only started getting more info about the movie besides what we already have confirmed for this sequel one month before the movie entered proper production.

Edit: No more costume responsible on IMDB. Which can only mean one thing...

Lara is going nude! Ana is going nude! Everyone is going nude! This will be "Rise of the Nude Raider"!
