The only way I ever see a new AOD release happening is if Crystal port classic Tomb Raider games to modern consoles, and they take some extra time to tweak AOD so its more palatable (fixed controls, duels ect).

Tastes are different of course, but there is no way SotTR is worse than AoD. They are not even near the same level of quality.
