I was wondering; is it possible to do something about Lara's fringes/bangs not reacting to the scion's glow and the smoke from her guns when she shoots the scion before the last level?
You can see it @ 0:14 and 1:56 Edit: I just noticed @ 1:24 Natla's bangs (and her necklace) don't react to it either. It must be a global issue not unique to Lara. Last edited by tomee; 26-07-21 at 17:38. |

See image 1. To answer your question there isn't a fix (I know of) only trade-offs. For example I could remove the scion's glow by making the related texture completely transparent which would make Natla or Lara's hair look less out of place. But it's not something I want to do because the scion's glow or the pistols smoke are features of the game and it would be a crime against vanilla to remove these I do appreciate any suggestions on how to further improve the quality of Anniversary. That's unfortunate, but I definitely agree with your philosophy of leaving it untouched. It's better to leave it as is as opposed to butchering some of the visuals for such little payoff.

This is an early preview for the next update. The Anniversary Manor uses some poor quality textures so I'm importing replacement textures from Legend. The textures are 1:1 identical but bigger and better quality.
See images below. It's possible to add glass to the golden tablet display in the last image, but this also adds glass to the same object which is suspended on the wall in the study. So keeping to the status quo is the best option imo. Last edited by ATombRaiderFan; 02-03-24 at 17:15. |

The manor project is taking longer than I've anticipated so I thought it might be a good idea to showcase the noteworthy changes as I make progress, rather than release it all in one go.
Images below. Some of the images are brightened because this is a dim level. Edit: Just realised the globe is upside-down so I've flipped the texture. The other side of the globe is mirrored. Last edited by ATombRaiderFan; 02-03-24 at 17:22. |

Have you considered swapping the Anniversary manor brick wall texture with its counterpart from Legend? I doubt Lara had her walls 'recut' between games so the inconsistency in appearance is just strange. Same for the main stone floor texture and any other differences.
It makes sense for the carpets and furniture to change, even the main window, but not the architecture. It would be nice to have the side room windows consistent between games as well. Lara wouldn't have replaced literally every window, so a night hue-adjusted version of the texture from Legend would be more appropriate. |

I have changed one texture in this respect, the wood beams on the roof of the hall. If the Anniversary wood had a different colour tone then I would accept it as new coating, but the wood is different from Legend. See image 1. Anyway I have experimented with your suggestion to replace the texture for the stone floor and walls. See images 2-7. I will be adding these changes to the manor project which is still WIP. ______________________ Update: The windows didn't look quite right when I changed it to the Legend texture, so I've opted to stick to the status quo.
