Default Preliminary/Placeholder TR3 Cover Art

As we all know, the render that was used for the TR3 cover art was the one with Lara in sunglasses and leaning forward with the gun, in front of the London backdrop. But did you know there were a few alternate cover arts seen in magazine ads? Mostly these come from Electronics Boutique ads.

Not sure if these are just placeholder images chosen by EB, or if Core was experimenting with other renders before deciding on the final one.

Do you think any of these would've been better choices? Or are you happy with the one that was chosen?

Cool! I had seen the alternate blue cover art, and the alternate logo with the red III, but never the other two possible covers

Very interesting. I'm happy with what we got in the end, though.

Honestly, I wouldn't have minded if we got the bottom pic, but with the London backdrop.

I think the top left one would've been too "suggestive" for some.

I agree. The bottom one is definitely the best.

Nice find!

I also think the bottom one would have worked, but in the end the one we got is iconic, so I'm happy they went with it.

The top right one was kinda used, for an OEM "special edition" (cut-down) version of Tomb Raider 3.

What does "OEM" mean?

I'm glad they chose the London blue background, the others are too similar to TR1 and TR2 (brown and dark red backgrounds) but the alternative poses are cool !

"Original Equipment Manufacturer," meaning "referring to a company that produces parts or components for other companies to use in their products."

In other news, I really like Lara's pose in the second cover, and I think that would have made a great alternative to the final product.
