I'm kind of interested to see what they do with Laura in the movie, having her played by the same actress as the remake is cool but I wonder if she'll have more screen time or have her character shifted to fit the movies narrative better. Her look is definitely different like you said, which kinda makes sense when you think about her connection with Mary, we don't know what Laura was in hospital so maybe the movie will explore that?

TBH, the whole "Maria wears a tacky wig because she's a stripper!" argument that I've seen some fans thrown around sounds like an excuses for her Temu-esque outfit. This isn't directed at you, it's just something I've seen post all over the Silent Hill subreddit in the past month. I do like the idea that Maria is wearing the wig to cover her bald head as an allusion to Mary's sickness.

![]() Haha, it's a forum opinions are welcome! I agree with you that the wig is horrendous I just hope it's rationalised as her either being a stripper or explained somehow because it does cheapen the production quality if thats supposed to be her hair, James outfit isn't much better mind. ![]() Another opinion I have us that Maria's costuming in general looks very cosplay, It looks a lot better with the fur coat over it. I know they have a micro budget on this one but I hope it doesn't end up looking it. There was a shot in the leaked teaser trailer that really concerned me when Maria was in the elevator and there was a hand held zoom shot on her face presumably when Pyramid head catches her, that shot bothered me. |

I feel very good about what's being shared!
Slightly surprised it's not following a strict VN structure. Ryukishi07 certainly seems to have a great grasp on what Silent Hill means, and his scriptural vision is all over it. I love that he's dealing with a place with a dark history like in Higurashi (I'm currently on Chapter 6!). He's great at hidden meanings and abstract clues. I'm loving the ambience and music playing in the background throughout. I like also that they're exploring a Silent Hill story in Japan. After all, the best horror of Silent Hill is Japanese in essence. Gutted we don't have a release date yet, but they're certainly cooking! Glad I could wishlist it. Certainly plenty of beauty to be found in its terror ![]() (Also, Konami is running a Spring Sale for 30% off Silent Hill 2 Remake on PS5 and Steam! ![]() Last edited by griffabee; 13-03-25 at 22:39. |

That was a bit of a non event compared to the previous transmissions. I was hoping to hear/see a bit more on their projects.
