that's because it switches to use the PSX textures, which are lower resolution

Is it not possible to simply edit th higher res pc textures to look the same as the PS2 textures so that the same effect us achieved? If you would want some help, you can send me the different textures and I'll do this

I made a small mod to replace the PC skies with ones that match the PSX skies much closer. It's been rotting on my hard drive for ages, so I figured it's time for release

Some examples:

Old mill - PC vs Mod

Trajan's market - PC vs Mod

Click here for an album with all changes.

For the Colosseum, I made 2 variants: one that matches the PSX sky, and one that matches the colour of the horizon object.

To install, simply replace the "data" folder in your game directory with the one that comes with the mod. The optional horizon match Colosseum sky comes in a separate folder. Enjoy

Download

One question, thinking about replaying TR5

Does this fix the holster bug with the Shotgun? In Rome and Russia, it seems to disappear on Lara's back. Always been a pet peeve of mine

Doesn't do this in the PS1 version of the game

Greetings, Woops!

Wonderful fix for this game, thank you very much for creating it. A great step in making this forgotten gem a better game!

Would it be possible to report you some language-specific bug from the Original game? Spanish version (can't tell if others languages have it, sadly) has a problem with Accents who pretty much cut all of the texts coming after words having with those. I think it's a problem with resolutions bigger than 640x480.

Iirc... SuikazeRaider managed to create the fix for this, but he had to modify the .exe itself.

EDIT: I also heard that Japanese PCTomb5.exe didn't have this problem, and some spanish users used it to make the accents work (along with having a SPANISH.DAT updated from a magazine re-release.)
