The factory and that awful machine boss fight is one of the worst things they've ever made in any resident evil game and honestly eclipses anything in RE6 on the stupidity meter.

Just got OG RE3 from GOG. So much fun. Last time I played it was 19 years ago. GOG has so many hidden gems... I should have tried it out much sooner.

Capcom are so bizarre to me - they always flip flop from either being really in touch with what their fanbase wants or not having a clue.

RE7/RE2/RE4 Remakes were so on point

RE8/RE3 devolved back into action focused and OTT elements.

Capcom tried to launch REVerse which flopped despite fans crying out for Mercenaries modes or Outbreak remakes.

They've been saying for years they're aware people want a Dino Crisis remake... yet they remade Devil May Cry which no one seemed to be asking for. If it were Onimusha I'd understand.

There's literally no consistency. It's like they wake up and roll a dice each day
If Outbreak is ever remade and should anyone decide to play it offline for whatever reason, the characters AI will need a massive overhaul so that they're not so stupid doing irritating things like ignoring commands to barricade the door to keep the Zombies out and frequently running off by themselves and inevitably needing to be saved from themselves, not unlike Sheva.

Capcom's insistence at repeatedly adding unnecessary multiplayer that no-one wanted or asked is the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results especially when the end result is always the same, the mediocre multiplayer inevitably being shut down.

Releasing a game built around online play in Europe without it's key feature the multiplayer was a stupid thing to do.

My favourite comment end of an error

As a huge DMC1 from it's release I can confirm that I'm definitely not happy about it being remade. I think most fans of the original won't like the idea.
Dino Crisis is the one that should get the attention for sure.

Wait, there's a DMC1 remake coming? I haven't heard anything.

It's a rumour that started on 4Chan, not the most solid of sources. It picked up a little traction because the voice actor for Vergil mentioned working on something months ago but that could have been either the mobile game or the anime.

I really hope it isn't real.
Remake literally any other DMC game. 1 is unique in how it's exists in an evolutionary period between being a Resident Evil game and what's commonly called "character action" nowadays.

Because it still had Resident Evil DNA in it, it has an atmosphere and depth that no other game in the series was able to capture.
Turning it into "wacky wahoo pizza man adventures 1" would be as inappropriate as remaking RE2 in the style of 6.

The boss fight is definitely absurd and jumping the shark, but I found the factory before that really good

RE:Verse flopped because it was NOT what the fans were crying out for, i.e Mercenaries mode.

Mercenaries, at least in format/execution moreso than concept, is a rather unique and iconic minigame for the RE series and that's why it's so popular. As is Raid Mode from the Revelations games.

So I don't know what on earth possessed them to release RE:Verse as a glorified online deathmatch-y sort of game, which we've seen 2194856017 versions of across basically every franchise ever in the history of gaming.

They had the perfect opportunity, for the 25th anniversary of RE, to do some huge Mercenaries/Raid Modes standalone game, with maps, characters, weapons, skins etc from across the series, as a huge nostalgia passion project. Fans would have ate the **** out of that, I guarantee. It would probably stay in my console for a solid year. They completely dropped the ball on not giving us that.

At this point, I'm starting to suspect that the developers don't bother much to research what the fans want.

They are literally wasting millions and millions of dollars on games that no one likes and therefore no one buys.

Maybe they have other reasons, but I don't understand why the developers don't listen to the fans. They would sell millions if they released a Dino Crisis remake.
