It's exciting. I can't wait to see more but I know it won't happen anytime soon and it's okay

Says who? Anniversary was an expansion of TR1, it was not exactly TR1 and it was the 8th TR project being worked on, which would make Shadow the 12th. Also, it seems like the line of code was referencing an animation present on Shadow as well (fire camp animation).

oh its been a while since we've had news this great

and it makes sense that they are taking their time with the new engine. i really don't want them to rush this game, its better to wait a little longer and have a completely finished and polished experience

Steam db code references Shadow as TR11 it's been known for a while.

Says the game files, and internally those acronyms were used throughout development across all games.

Anniversary basically got skipped in the numbering since it's a remake. TR8 is Tomb Raider: Underworld.

If they end up being different projects, hopefully they can still port some of the assets/code developed? Just so development didn't have to start completely from the ground up...

Steam does not equal CD. You do not refer to a game the same internally and externally.

@ghostblade do we have lines of code for Shadow? Was Shadow ever datamined the same way avengers was?

I really hope they are different projects. They can indeed just take the assets they worked on and import them into Unreal Engine 5 no problem. I extracted TR2013 animations and models and imported them into Unreal Engine 4 with ease.

Since they're saying they "just started" I assume the project is being rebuilt from the ground up on UE5 or it's a separate project after the one reportedly on Foundation Engine (I was told it got canceled ages ago).

Honestly kind of gagged by this announcement- was not expecting this :0

I'm pretty excited though! And that logo looks really nice and old-school. Shame we gotta wait longer but a pleasant surprise!
