Default Converting .tre files to work from Dxtre3d version 1.1 to version 2.0 Rev 2L

When I open up the demo .tre files that came with the program or any .tre file in general to convert it from version 1.1 to version 2.0 Rev 2L nothing happens. Dxtre3d can't open up any of the .tre files because they are using the previous version of the file that it was made for. How do I convert .tre files to work with Dxtre3d 2.0 Rev 2L? I keep getting the message: Sorry, Tre version 1.x no supported; use CONVERTER tool to migrate your project. Sorry, but I'm new to this and never done this before.

Look in your Dxtre main folder, there should be a tool named "convert.exe". Use that tool to convert your 1.x .tre to 2.0.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I did try opening one of the .tre files with the Convert.exe A window opens up, but nothing happens. It just shows file 0% It should be loading the file. But I don't know if it's working or not. I waited at least a minute or 2.

You need to click on "File" and select "Open", then search for your .tre file you need to convert.
After that i suppose you would need to select "Save as", never used it really.

Specifically, I'm trying to open one of the demo .tre files that Dxtre3d came with so I can see what it looks like so I can make a level of my own. But it tells me, I need to convert it from version 1.1 to 2.0 Rev 2L

Oh ok, because the demo .tre files are there as a template so I can see an example of what the level design looks like. Can you see if you can send me a link to a download of those same .tre demo files using version 2.0 Rev 2L please? That is, if you can find them. If not, it's ok.

Yay! I found an installer version of Dxtre 2.0rC that contains three demo projects with their texture sets. I suppose those are the demos you want to open. Link here -> Dxtre3D installer

When you install it, look into the install folder and there will be 3 demo folders, inside each there's a .tre file. You can open any of them in the latest Dxtre version without problems, i tried.

Thank you very much! In the 2 demo folders including the manual folder, there is one demo .tre file in the demo 1 and demo 2 folders. In the manual folder, there are like 8-10 regular .tre files from one of the levels in Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. But thanks again. Hopefully this will work and no problems are found.

P.S. The Rev 2C version should be the same as Rev 2L? I'm confused, sorry.

No problem, happy to help!

I didn't notice that there were more .tre's in the manual folder. That's awesome.
In the "Feni4" folder there's a project file for TurboPascal's level "Fenician Temple 4".

Edit: The revC is a lower version, you should be using revL.
