It's a nice upscale, but given that it doesn't add any new detail, the only place where I might see something as this being useful is if you want to play the games at a higher resolution than original, and really care about the detail of the loading screens.
AI upscalers actually do add new detail, it's just that that detail is approximated/estimated. It's not exactly the same detail that would've originally been there but detail that the algorithm thinks would make sense there. That being said, at the moment these algorithms work better with some kinds of source material than others. For example, a lot of them do a better job reconstructing photos as opposed to paintings or drawings. I imagine stylised FMVs from the 90s are gonna give most of them a bit of trouble, as well (though I do believe you can feed them with new data sets yourself to train them to handle different kinds of source material).

Woww! Really nice pictures! Is there Tomb Raider loading screens too?
Tha AI upscale is better than nothing if compared with original image. 320 x 240 px (so bad!)

These look really sharp. Even though the AI creates new detail where there was none -that's the only possible way of upscaling a really low-res picture if you ask me-, it looks quite natural most of the time.

So, these will only work with Open Lara, right?

Credits to barracuda415 for these excellent and beautiful loading screens!

And here's a bonus, these work great in the downloadable version of OpenLara!

Yes, loading screens aren’t in the official PC versions.
