Oops... that's a lot of sounds to convert!

Hmmm... I'll see if I'll use it. I can hear some difference in my current 22050 Hz samples and the original ones in 44k or 48k. So it might be worth the hassle. (is there any program that can do batch conversion? Like Irfanview can for images?)
Looks like most of the original samples I'm using are in 44k so that would be the most convenient setting then.

Untill then I've enabled that patch which allows ofr larger sized files.

And I've changed my font colour to something that fits my PDA/SaveGamePanel colours better.

Not sure yet about most of the other stuff.
I didn't use most of them in Himalayan Mysteries so I'm not absolutely sure what they do. Time to experiment I guess.

Never mind the question about a batch converter for audio.
Found one through Google.
Let's see now if it is any good.

I use Adobe Audition 3 with the ACM (.wav) plugin.
You can open all the sounds in it and then save them all (File->Save All Audio As) with the right settings

Yes, the higher sample size seems to work because I tested it on larger files which I had to shorten and which did not work before. They are working now.


Pfff... that batch converter keeps crashing on me...
It does convert but seems to crash at random.

So I downloaded another one which was sharware with a 15 day/10 file license... and another one in which I can't find the tools tab to get to the batch converter.

Any suggestions?

Found yet another one and all files are now converted to 44100Hz.
But I can't hear any of them ingame.
Did anyone else try this already? If so, any better results than I got?

Maybe it converted to 44100Hz but not 16bit mono. I tried using Adobe Audition 3 before and it worked (I converted only the pistols and mený sounds together, the non converted sounds were played fastly)

I found a freeware version of Adobe Audition 3 so I'm going to give it a try.

Yes, I noticed the fast playing of sounds in the levels that hadn't been converted, like the title.
Adn you should have hear Lara in the first level! Very highpitched because the saound was playing so fast!

TREP's bink player is broken in Windows 7 + AMD videocard (I guess, it also happens with native TR4 bink player), resolution stays the same, but bink video is played in top left corner, also game crashes on pressing escape key during FMV playback. So it doesn't worth trying to import it.

Native TR4 seems to work, and if you have the resolution of the FMV's big enough it should look fine. Also it's never crashed for me.

@Titak: and if you put 11025 Hz they'll played slowly
Btw don't remember if you need a plugin for ACM audio files ... if it's already included, when you save the files, select the format "ACM waveform (.wav)" and click on the "Options" button to choose the Hz, bits and mono/stereo

But the FMV starts after the loading bar and I had some troubles with the background soundtracks and the fullscreen mode ...

Also it forces the use of the ENTER key afterwards and therefore instantly starts the game, skipping the main menu.
