It is actually a solid point why TRAOD was released unfinished, Tomb Raider was taken away from Core Design and Core design was sold. There were probably other darker reasons why Eidos Interactive was going bankrupt. And even releasing TRAOD, taking Tomb Raider away from Core Design and selling Core Design did not satisfy their financial appetite for long. Eventually, they got acquired by SCi and then again by Square Enix after never-ending losses...

I don't hate the logo, but I definitely think it needs work, the silhouette isn't centered and the font is really unappealing imo. It has no impact.

I think the AOD logo posted by Baratheon looks amazing, but that might just be nostalgia talking

Core Design were actually sold after the SCi acquisition. I think the main reason for taking the series away from Core was just that Eidos was trying to pin all the blame on them because they needed a scapegoat for the shareholders and they needed to be able to say "look, we're doing sth about this". Of course, they ignored the fact that they themselves played a huge role in what happened with the franchise in general and with AoD in particular.
