It'll be interesting, I'm just so curious as to how something as action heavy as TR will mesh with said British-indie vibes.

If "Free Fire" is a good example, action will be the less worrying thing about the movie.

Or at least fire-arm combat and interesting use of set-pieces.

TR2018 was disappointing in the British boxoffice. I think they didn't expect that. The British box office can give big numbers (Hi Mamma Mia! Hi Bridget Jones! Hi Paddington)

It didn't do horribly in British box office but it was half of Angelina's 2001 movie, basically how it was around half of Angelina's in the USA too.

Thankfully though France and Germany turned out.

Another IMDB oddity: while the movie is being written by Amy Jump, both Geneva and Alastair (the writers for the 2018 movie) were credited as the ones responsible for the characters. Now only Alastair is credited.

Not that it matters that much for the sequel, but it is an odd thing indeed.

No really. In the 2018 movie Susan O'Connor or Rhianna Pratchett were credited because they used things from the 2013 reboot. That they credit Alastair/Geneva simply means that they are going to take characters that he created as Lu Ren for example.

No, I get that. What I find odd is the Geneva's credit being removed.

It is quite odd that she was removed, Evan Daugherty may have even created the Lu Ren character or atleast retained enough of his treatment in the first film to earn him a writing credit also. Wasn't Alastair mainly brought on to enhance the dialogue a bit? Atleast I think that's what Geneva said in an interview once.
