Default GOG trilogy has devtech options enabled

Today I bought GOG version of Tomb Raider Legend, Anniversary and Underworld and to my surprise, those versions seem to come with unlocked special options when you open the -config window.

This seems to work in all the three games. Additional features like disable hardware vertexshaders, no dynamic textures etc are available in the menu.

To access devtech features, just run -setup of any of the game. Then, look for a square without any text on it. Click on it and it should show additional options.

Moreover, Tomb Raider Anniversary seems to also have a "Use 2.0 Shader Features" option in the place where Legend has next-gen mode option. The option makes all the geometry disappear though.

Has anyone else noticed it and tried to play with it? Are there some interesting features available that weren't originally enabled?

Interesting, a discarded option for X360 graphics perhaps?

One thing I have noticed so far is that in TR Legend if you enable next-gen mode and disable shader 3.0 options, you get a bit of a mix between old-gen and new-gen features. So far I have only noticed that without 3.0 shader the water is old-gen, but it is possible that there are more differences.

The devtech options are present in all retail builds of the game, but hidden behind a registry option. Are you sure you didn't enable that in the past?

The shaders features option in Anniversary enables next-generation mode but since there are no assets it won't render anything and/or crash.

Interesting... Is this something where the assets could be substituted in with a mod?
