Dragons Lair difficulty
I was enjoying the remasters very much. Had forgot almost all the puzzle solutions so new challenge.
What also came back to me was the love late to "is this designed to be annoying feelings?" with the agility stuff. I love the puzzling and *hate* the combat. The 2 spearman at once in dragon's lair make me not want to finish an almost finished game. Why have a game full of adversery's level 3 and then throw 2 adversary's level 9 at you at once with no place to hide. Be clear that a game is for agiles from the start so you know it's not for you. For could measure if you get speared you must wait until loading a saved game until the full spearing sequence has been completed. Every freaking time, again and again. Pfffffffffffffffffffffffffff Maybe try again in a week. |

Tomb Raider is a casual game with no difficulties. That's one of the reasons I like it. In my opinion, racing games are really challenging.

Whip out the grenade launcher and go to town on the spearmen!
Also there is a trick where if you launch 3 grenade at them before they activate, they die after only one more grenade. Id if it's been fixed. |

As Shirley mentioned, use the grenade launcher. The uzis work well too if you're agile enough. Oh, one more thing; if you really get terribly frustrated, use the level skip cheat.

Admittedly it is the semi final level this is where sideflip and backflipping become supremely useful - both to help dodge the spears and the goons who throw knives or whatever at you. Keeping this in mind, you may find it alot easier than it seems!
Once you trigger the goons, head back into the first zone- their AI is not perfect- there's a chance they'll come to you more slowly, more opportunity to pump in lead. Last edited by mizuno_suisei; 19-05-24 at 02:30. |

Did those quite recently and yes, they are among the tougher fights in the game.
A trick that worked for me, they can only move up one click. The squares next to the switch are two clicks high. If you stand on them, shoot them and jump to the other one once they get close, you should be able to take them out while taking very little damage. |

Right. It's one way of doing it. That's why I said there's no difficulty. You just need to watch the pattern carefully.

Indeed.
The spearmen aren't that hard with any automatic weapon but because LC can't jump and fire with the Assault Rifle you're best using 'Uzis' or the Automatic Pistols if you don't have enough grenades left. The side jump whilst firing or, better, running away then tumble turning/quick fire then tumble turn and run away again are standard TR techniques. That Dragon's Lair locked room is really no different from the earlier Floating Islands rooms with re-animating statues which the OP must have done. The bad guys in the pre-boss fight area are pretty easy even with just the pistols/no damage as long as you carefully trigger them individually or in pairs. As others have said you can retreat into the statue room and I've found standing on the stepped surround you can pick them off as they come through the door. You can always save your way through both areas after each kill assuming you didn't take too much damage and/or don't have any Health Packs left. Last edited by fallenangle; 09-06-24 at 11:02.
