Level Skip issue
I’ve been trying to level skip TR2, without success. Every time I try to do so using various level skip codes, Lara simply explodes with a big bang!
Anyone help me with this? |

'Level skip cheat' and 'Exploding Lara cheat' for the PC are very similar, and that's why you exploded
Level skip... Light a flare, walk one step forward and one step back, then turn around 3 times, then do a forward jump. Exploding Lara... If you do not light a flare and do all the above moves in the level skip cheat then Lara will explode. |

Doesn’t work for me, she still explodes! I want to level skip because the screen is so dark I can’t see what’s happening!

TR2 has no gamma correction/brightness control.
But you should be able to adjust it in the settings of your screen graphic card. Just right click with your mouse on screen and you should get graphic card properties, and then adjust the screen to get the brightness you want for the game. Once you come out of the game, set your graphic card properties back to original settings. Here is a photo grab of my graphic card properties, your's will be similar. Which level or part of the level are you talking about being too dark?
The sewers and other places in Venice are intentionally dark, you're meant to light a flare. There's also a similar case early on in Bartoli's Hideout and a certain part of the Opera House. Particularly the latter, it is very easy to have run out of flares by then and it makes the Opera House much more difficult to complete. Happened to me once. After that I can't think of anywhere in the Oil Rig and Maria Doria connected levels which is overly dark; maybe 'lake' area but Xian does have a few too. In short, use the flares sparingly throughout. On the level skip matter:- Not tried it recently but perryloo's advice about the technique works perfectly for me on PC. The three turns can even be slightly more than three and it still works. I tried it three times and not even one failure. Might be more tricky using joystick movement on a controller so I suggest using the d-pad (what I use). Hold the walk button throughout: on level ground light the flare, press up (one step forward), then down (one step back). Now just hold left and she should rotate anti-clockwise. Continue holding left until she's done three rotations then forward jump using up and square ie. the forward and jump buttons together. Should work. Last edited by fallenangle; 05-09-24 at 13:10. |

Press the Forward Slash key (/) to draw a flare.

I map the flares to the PS Dualshock 1 controller's Select button.
It is about the only thing different I do from the controller mapping of the original PS version where flares are L2. |
