Another work related one. My boss went to the hairdressers during her lunch break. Nothing wrong in that, she can use her break however she wants, right? She was gone for almost 4 hours. She left at 13.45 and came back to the shop at 5.35, by which time I'd already left. The only plus was that I got to leave on time for a change. She told me I could leave "early" as she'd be back to cash up. I locked the place up, put the alarm on and left to catch the earlier bus.
in case you haven't guessed, I left work unhappy. Not so bad now hours later, but I felt the need to share. Anyone got any aspirin? Last edited by Rai; 01-11-24 at 23:37. |

I feel sad. I work as a 4* business hotel receptionist and some people are so arrogant, that it slowly starts to kill me. Just....why? :-/

It's human nature Lukass, try not to take it personally. I've worked around plenty of arrogant people. I've learned to just smile and nod. Just remember, you get to go home and unwind. Try to think about that when you're sad.

Answer: That's none of your business. Me: Sorry, sir? Answer: Send an invoice to my e-mail. Me: It is not possible, unfortunately, I am sorry. It is only possible if you have signed a whole year contract, which you haven't. Answer: F**k you then! Me: Speechless, staring at him... Then he pulls out his credit card... |

I totally feel you though, and I know that it always hurts to get torn into like that through absolutely no fault of your own. In a situation like that, something that can help after they walk away, is just thinking something to yourself like "They're not me. That type of behavior isn't who I am." It sounds dumb at first, but it's something to keep your mind in the moment. A subtle reminder that you've done absolutely nothing wrong. Someone was just being pointlessly obtuse and regardless of their personal reasons, that is no reflection of you or anything you did or said. Just remember Lukass, no matter how much viciousness people will ever throw your way - you're still your wonderful, amazing self at the end of the day. They can never take that away from you, and there's just as many people who are more thoughtful and care about you. |

He didn't want to pay straight away. But that is just not possible for a reason I stated before. People tend to think that it's our decision, but it isn't. We have to do what our management want us to do. But some guests just can't understand this. You are the only one they see and talk to, therefore you are the one causing troubles....:-/ |
