Arrow Passing Through Underwater Fans While They Are Spinning (Offshore Rig+Diving Area)

Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZzItCeSiLI

These two levels contain underwater fans which appear to kill you instantly if you get sucked into them. However, from experimenting I came to learn that you don't die instantly. Your health goes down incredibly quickly, but your death is not immediate.

By swimming towards the fans and mashing my inventory button I was able to monitor my health when I was in contact with the fans. By using healthpacks accordingly and continuing to mash the inventory button and use further healthpacks I was able to swim all the way through the fans without being killed.

In Offshore Rig I swam through a fan which took me to the jade secret. I was then seemingly stuck as I couldn't swim back through the fan as it would just suck me back in and cost a load of other healthpacks. The only other path available to me was sealed off by a trapdoor. However, by doing the underwater flare glitch I managed to end up above the trapdoor and then proceed to safety.

In Diving Area I swam through a fan which took me to grenade launcher ammo. From the looks of things I was then stuck, as the only path available to me would've required swimming back through the fan, which wasn't an option as it would've just sucked me back in and forced more healthpacks out of me.

According to TwilightQueen, underwater fan in TR2 does not cause instant death, but 200 hp per frame damage.

I always thought the secret of these underwater fans was to stay away from them when they are moving

Thanks for sharing. I think I did see that but then forgot about it.

In Diving Area you're meant to have to stop the fan from moving. In Offshore Rig you're meant to have to just avoid it.

Not to mention there is a path to get behind it and pick up the jade dragon statue.
