I actually already have a small 'Lara at the games' related style unit. Not sure if it will turn into anything at this point, but I had fun with it.

How about either Until Dawn or The Quarry? A creepy cabin in the woods with a creature, and maybe a Young Lara who has to run and hide without weapons.

I'd do a Metal Gear Solid or Castlevania one I think.

I wasn't expecting such a reaction, which is awesome to see.
Yeah I just kinda threw the idea together and wanted to see how everyone else felt about it. I vaguely recall a set of levels being worked on years ago (as others have stated) so it was a shame it wasn't finalised. There have been so many new engines, editor tools , objects and textures released over the years. Somebody more experiences might need to take the reins on this one - but if enough of us are serious about this and get together. Who knows |

I think there isn't much to do besides set a deadline, since the rules are not too strict.
As you said since there is not reward or anything, maybe don't call it a competition, but a community project? We can all build our little game inspired levels, put Lara At The / In Videogames / whatever in front of its name and release it together. And if people want to make it a competition, see if there are people who'd like to be judges. |

I'm making too many suggestions for someone who isn't contributing, but how cool would it be to show a video game from each decade? Starting with the 1980s and then ending with something recent. It'd be like the evolution of gaming

To be honest it is a very ambitious (in a good way) idea, and if I were to contribute, I think I'd have a lot of fun. But I am already very busy with real life with side projects that at the same time are very close to be released, but still require a lot of attention.
So I don't know how much time I have to contribute to this. Competitions are hard because they require builders to have continuously and at the same time a lot of free time; and it does not happen always + requires very good timing in the year. I think last time we had a very successful competition was in 2016's CAC, 2018's ORC, 2019's CAC and 2021's CAC. Back (or beyond) the basics is a completely different thing and imo is not even fun, so I'm not counting those. |

I have thought also about some more themes, maybe someone wants to try: - MediEvil 1 or 2 - Harvest Moon: Back to Nature (maybe Lara could have an own little farm, go for some tasks in the village and in the mines, ride on a horse and so on...) - Drakan: The Ancient's Gates, although I think there is no way to ride on a dragon - Sims 2: Castaway (Lara is stranded on an island/islands and has to find a way back...) - A Racing Level - Maybe a Level which is in sidescrolling view - Fatal Frame Last edited by Leeloo_trle; 07-11-24 at 23:58. |

This is where my frustration with getting any Level Editor to cooperate: I've been kicking around an idea with Lara in Nosgoth from the "Legacy of Kain" games for the better part of 2 decades now and my smooth lizard brain can't comprehend any TRLE. =~=
