Finished it last night, other than 1 major frame rate drop at the end of the game it was a fantastic remaster, probably the best one to release this gen.

Anyone else think the remaster looks ... well ... worse?

I know the light/shadow quality was really low on 360 - but here the remaster lacks some of the atmosphere somehow? Like its washed out.. or lights aren't as bright? Not really sure what it is.. but I don't like it.

Really tempted to just get the original 2012 PC version on Steam so I can at least play it in true high resolution, with the original graphics/textures intact.
Heck, there might even be some fan mods out there to improve it further.

Adore this game though, and it shows how a 11 year old game stands the test of time, and holds up well.

I am not sure about worse, but overall I feel a bit disappointed. I was a massive Alan Wake fan around 2013-2015, I even have the 2 books and did a class presentation about this game back at the university.

This $32 dollar remaster feels a bit lacking honestly. Was it really so hard to put some of the deleted features or levels back? There was a planned Taken Bear, a train level and more to do at the lighthouse. I am a bit reluctant to buy it.

The original is better than the remaster. The remaster is almost unplayable due to frame rate drops in the cutscenes. How it made it through the final stages of production is beyond me

I'm on episode 4, just escaped the facility lodge. I came across a QR code in the game that links to YouTube videos, which is an awesome feature. More games need to do stuff like this.

When this 11 years old game is sold for much less than 30 USD, I am so getting it

I was wondering the same thing on quite many of recent games.
It's as if publishers have decided, that when they want the money, the game has to come out - ready or not.

It has happened before *cough* AoD *cough*, but it seems to increase in frequency lately.
