Also a very valid point. I think at least 1/4 of the Crystals, if not more, are hidden behind a Secret. I mean, we have the Nevada Exploit enabling us to get more and make Save Crystals a nonissue, but that's hardly dev intended.
Whats the Nevada exploit?

I do think the save crystals enrich the games. They add an extra dimension in terms of challenge and suspense that otherwise wouldn't be there.

However I didn't always think so. Back when TR2 was released I considered it an improvement to be able to save everywhere and as often as I liked. And I was annoyed when TR3 was released that they had reverted back to saves being limited. Over the years I've come to appreciate the save crystals as part of the gameplay though.

I've always loved the look of the save crystals btw. Particularly how they glow in TR3, lighting up their nearby surroundings in that same blue glow. It was always a welcome sight to spot one from a distance.

I like them tbh.

I prefer the way the TR1 save crystals looked. They were this nice rich glassy purple.

Yesterday I saw a (rather long) video on YT talking about TR1 as having a horror game genre attached to it. It's a bit slow to start, and honestly don't know if the point was completely delivered, but I quite like the editing, and found myself agreeing with quite a few things.

I can't share the video due to profanity, but I would like to know if anyone else saw it, and what did you think about it.

Yes we've seen it, a masterpiece of a video and I happen to agree with it. The one who made the video posted here in the forum not so long ago if I remeber correctly.

Maybe I've missed something, but given that "****" is reboot Lara's favorite word, I think you're good. It's also been posted here several times already.

Yeah, it's pretty great with a surprise ending.

Right. Thanks for letting me know, I've been so detached from TR discussions, that I'm missing out on a lot. I'll look for the discussion.
